  Introduction

I tried to find an easy to follow procedure to convert my zippo lighter into the Elsa lighter.
All the materials are easy to obtain at local shops.

  Materials

Zippo Lighter
Heavy weight paper
Pinewood 0.039 inch
(used for model airplanes)
Woodsealant
Enamel paint
Revell Color white 04
Humbrol Enamel green 02
Brushes
EDDING 400 Marker
Sandpaper fine
(or Disposable nail file)
Exacto knife
Glue
Pattex Profix 600

  Instructions
Draw the outline of your lighter onto the paper and cut it out.

Reduce the size by cutting the same amount of paper all around your template.

Place the template on the wood and trace around the edges

The wood can be easily cut with an excato knife

Use fine sandpaper to round and bevel the edges

Apply the wood sealant onto the surface to seal imperfections and let dry
Use fine sandpaper to smooth the surface and make it dust free

Apply the first coat of white enamel paint and let dry

You will probably need to apply another coat of white paint and let dry

Use the clover template to transfer the clover image onto the lighter with carbon paper Download
size 0.94 x 1.14 inch

Use the green paint to fill the clover and let dry

Trace the clover images with a black line and add the details

Without a steady hand it will be difficult to trace the black line and details , using a black permanent marker (EDDING 400)will be much easier

To increase abbrasion resistance i advice to apply two coats of transparent Polyurethane (PU) lacquer

Glue the parts onto your lighter
